The Mill
Hill Missionaries are an international fellowship of
priests, lay members and associates. Since its foundation
in 1866 by Cardinal Vaughan of Westminster, London,
the society has been serving the poor and destitute
of the world, both spiritually and materially. Today
some 550 in total are still active in this service of
love.
Many of our
fellow past pupils and teachers are working
diligently all over the world. By clicking on
the country link you will see various projects
in each location.
This
past year the Association has given financial
support to the following projects
1. Education of special needs children in Cameroon.
2. Various projects in Sindh Pakistan such as
the provision of water pumps, donkey & cart,
cabins, Goat scheme, Cow / Buffalo scheme, teachers
salaries, school rooms.
3.
Formation & Training Course in ongoing Formation,
Spiritual Direction & Retreat giving in
Cameroon
4.
Childrens education Project in North Western
Province Pakistan.
5. Orphans project in Sudan
Some
€15,000 has now been allocated to these projects
and we hope that in some small way the association
is helping individuals and families less well
off than ourselves.
The committee would like to
thank those past pupils who have set up Direct
Debits and are donating gifts in instalments
to help our missionary colleagues. This personal
commitment and financial support is a great
gesture in assisting and supporting classmates
and colleagues who have continued to live and
work to the spirit and reality of our Freshford
calling – Amare et Servire ..to love and to
serve.
We
would gladly welcome any news, photos and articles
from Irish missionaries from any country in
the world. We will help to promote your work
and tell your stories through this website.
We are appealing for your interaction and information
so please send through e-mail or post directly
to the Secretary at the addresses provided.
